An Overview of our Annual Montana Trip

Last year when we went the raspberries were in full season and William ate them by the handfulls. This year they were really late and all William got to enjoy were 8 individual raspberries. Although we did inspect them each day looking for ripe ones.

William always loves a digger (or as he always corrects me: an excavator).

Montana Trip Continued

Hours upon hours spent throwing sticks for Frankie on the little beach that William also dug holes in all the rocks. Since we have been home each night William prays for Frankie the dog and ends it by saying Frankie is PU (and he ain't telling no lie when he prays that)

All dressed up and to the beach with Aunt Ruthie I go.

Williams very first time having HuckleBerry Ice Cream (he has never been that into ice cream before...although we have only offered him vanilla).

I think he likes it or else he is having a cold headache

While in Montana, some of Grandpa Teubert's family got together. So they all got to meet William. Here William poses (with a real smile) with Grandpa Teubert and Uncle "George".

A Weekend of Celebrating America

We spent a fun weekend in Colorado Springs on the fourth of July. The weekend started with a parade in Monument. I have never been a fan of parades but I do have to say that they are FREE fun for the little ones and provide trucks, firetrucks, horses and cars all in one place.... And the bonus is they throw candy at you too.

Isn't that a cute smile. I have always heard of the toddler smile and William has mastered it. How can the contort their cute little faces so.
On Sunday of the actual fourth of July, we woke up early and headed up to a little place called "Tiny Town". It is cute little place that has over 100 buildings that are well tiny. As we walked into the front gate William spotted the real steam engine. Of course nothing after that was even remotely interesting. After we dragged him through the town, forcing him to look at the tiny buildings, it was time to ride the engine. We actually rode the engine 2 times...the first time he sat with Daddy and the second he got to ride with other kids in the Caboose. All his hopes and dreams were fulfilled on those 2 rides. I love how William embraces each moment of each day. (and I love how easy it is to get him excited on some of the lamest things!!!) For those of our family who went to Indiana for the fourth of July weekend, although we didn't have the opportunity to go the real Coney Island...We did enjoy a tiny one in Tiny Town.

The Cousins come out visit William and see the Mountains

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Nathan's sister Sarah and her family came out to visit us. William had a blast hanging out with his cousins. Of course in William's attempt to keep up with the big boys, he face planted five minutes after they arrived. So he looks beat up in each and every picture. We spent the week going to the Air Force Academy, Walking around Garden of the Gods, exploring America the Beautiful Park and we all went to the top of Pikes Peak for the first time. The site seeing was fun because we do enjoy showing off our new home but the time with family was the best of all. Although I think the boys liked the Legos the best.

Territorial Days at Old Colorado City on Memorial Day 2009

On Memorial Day Weekend, Old Colorado City has a festival called Territorial Days. It was a day full of art vendors, music, food that reminded me of North Carolina fair, and the best part for William was the train.

William would have had a great day if all we had done was ride the shuttle from parking around....... The mode of transportation was an old fashion School Bus!!!!!

Once we arrived at the festival, William's train ride was a close 2nd to the bus ride. As the train went around in circles, he smiled for the camera each time he went around (and that alone is a big feat for a 2 year old).

To top off the day was an old fashioned shoot off. William was not too sure of all the screaming and the loud shot guns, but he did find it funny when the actors would fall down.

Mother' Day

I had a fabulous Mother's Day. I of course woke up an hour before anyone else did.... I so love the freshness and the quietness that it is worth loosing an hour of sleep. Once everyone was up, Nathan made homemade French Toast and Turkey Bacon. Then it was off to church and of course Mexican for lunch. My special treat for the day was 2 hours of uninterrupeted scrapbooking time. Then lots of family time with William. We walked to the fountain park in our neighborhood that had just turned on. I often feel underprepared for this job of motherhood but I think that is where God wants to keep me. (Oh yeah my mother's day gift was a gift certificate to my knitting store....yeah on to the next project).

Sporting Daddy's shoes.

Springtime means bikes and trikes!!!

As the weather has been warming up, we have introduced William to many fun big boy toys that involve wheels. Anything with wheels are William's obsession right now..... So it has been a blast with these garage sales finds.

William thinks he is hot stuff in his police car.

One of the great garage sale finds has been this awesome bike seat for William. He LOVES riding with daddy each night and he helps daddy by holding down the back of his shirt during the bike rides.

Williams new "Old Fashioned" Radio Flyer Tricycle

If you look closely at his bike helmet that he picked out himself, it is covered in diggers and "Dozers".
